Space exploration and the camera equipment used to capture early images of Earth have always been an interest to Analog Hero. That is why we were extremely excited to come across the Stellar Views website and the plethora of scanned original photos.
U-turn is a well made American made analog turntable. The U-turn team recently ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over 4x more than their original goal. The simplicity of the turntable comes as a breath of fresh air compared to other units on the market that focus on transferring vinyl to digital and boasting USB connection functionality.
A turntable should be reliable, easy to use, but most importantly it should sound great. Most entry-level models offer gimmicks like built-in speakers, retro-looks, and USB connectivity. These turntables try to do too much, and consequently sound quality gets marginalized. USB is used by few and is neither necessary nor preferable for digitizing vinyl records. By omitting USB and other superfluous features, we are able prioritize the turntable’s music-making components.
Jeffrey Milstein created The Jet as Art to provide prospective of planes that not too many people are able to see, the underbelly. Using a medium format camera, Jeffrey religiously photographed aircrafts with precise accuracy that draws comparative size and scale for each photo. Once taken, the photos are archived on enormous 6′x6′ prints.
